Indec used a combination of Maintenance Manuals, industry knowledge and experience, along with observation of Yarra Tram’s maintenance practices, to prepare documentation for upload in the client’s document management system.

Yarra Trams required experienced engineering resources to support their Rollingstock Heavy Overhauls Program. The initial focus was the timely completion of a suite of documents for the D Class fleet of trams.

The task required familiarisation with the client’s maintenance and document management systems, along with the current maintenance practices for heavy overhaul.

Indec applied experience with rollingstock maintenance and practical application of structured processes, coupled with visual guides, to prepare documentation.

Incorporating feedback from the tram maintainers, the comprehensive engineering information was uploaded to the client’s maintenance and document management systems, allowing Yarra Trams to meet their obligations under the MR4 Franchise for the rollingstock assets to be maintained efficiently and in accordance with their original manufacturer’s expectations.

The D Class documentation was completed within a tight timeframe. Our engagement was extended to include outstanding documentation for other Classes.

Indec successfully blended descriptions of good practice in rollingstock heavy overhaul with the original equipment manufacturer’s recommended activities.

The local, practical context of the New Preston Workshops was considered to ensure the material was readily acceptable and to provide excellent value for Yarra Trams.
